Description

This beautiful book celebrates 50 years of art on Marco Island.  From a small groups of artists forming The Art League of Marco Island to today’s Marco Island Center for the Arts, this hardcover compendium is filled with images that tell the Art Center’s story as well as exquisite artwork.

Created and edited by Kat Rinaldo, Marco Island Center for the Arts comes alive through this unforgettable visual masterpiece.

KAT NIMTZ RINALDO

For over forty years KAT has been coming to Marco Island. In January of 2010 she met artist Marilyn Wirth and started getting involved with the arts on the island. She took painting classes with Marilyn at the Art League and Marilyn invited her to join the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts Board of Directors where she held the title of Vice President in 2013. That same year KAT was encouraged by Lynn Holley, the executive director for the Art League, to enter her art photography in exhibitions at the Art League. She was awarded many ribbons for her photography. Simultaneously KAT’s work was in galleries in Marco Island and Naples, FL; New York and Wisconsin. In January of 2015 KAT began curating exhibitions at Marco Island Center for the Arts (formerly the Art League) while serving on their Gallery Committee.  In 2016/2017 she taught photography classes there as well. Photography has been an important part of KAT’s life since high school in Wisconsin Rapids, WI in 1972. She has a B.S in Communications from the University of Wisconsin and an M.A. in Communications from William Paterson University in New Jersey.

KAT’s Art Photography “lives” in galleries, Interior Designer’s collections, Celebrity/Private Collections as well as in the lobby of the SunSet House Condominium on Marco Island.  KAT has self~published several books of her art photography but MARCO MADE BY HANDS is the first she has written, edited and published and she has a couple more waiting in the wings. KAT and her husband, Michael, reside both in New Jersey and on Marco Island.
