Pastels: Beginner to Intermediate 4 week class is an exploration into the creativity and versatility of the medium of Pastel. We will learn about the different types of pastel and pastel grounds (surfaces). We will learn how to use this medium to express YOUR creativity.

In addition to being a Pastel Artist I am also a Physician Assistant and I have worked in the field of Psychiatry for many years. I have learned to appreciate the awesome benefit of creativity for people who struggle with anxiety and depression. My focus is to help you learn how to use Pastel and to allow you to enjoy the process! Creativity is very healing!

In the first class we will have a brief discussion and experimentation of the different types of pastels and grounds. We will then work from a provided photo step by step together. More advanced pastelists can work at their own pace.

The next two classes: you will bring a photo source to work from and the last class will be a still life set up to work from.
