Description
Take your wheel-throwing skills to the next level by exploring two highly useful techniques: throwing large and tall forms and working off the hump. This hands-on class focuses on clay preparation, centering larger amounts of clay, controlling wall thickness, building height, and maintaining stability as a form develops. Students will also learn the off-the-hump technique, including how to prepare a larger mass of clay, efficiently throw multiple smaller forms, and maintain consistency from one piece to the next. The instructor will demonstrate each technique step by step and provide individual guidance as students practice. Designed for intermediate to advanced potters who already have solid wheel-throwing experience and want to improve their control, efficiency, and ability to create larger forms.
