Join a two-day autumn watercolor workshop titled “Don’t Be Afraid, It’s Only Paint and Paper.” This introductory two-day workshop is designed for those who thought watercolor difficult and unapproachable. We will start with exploring how colors mix and the differences that more and less water makes and move on to creating paintings. Understanding the basics can make watercolor painting a fun and accessible creative activity, perfect for anyone looking to let their inner artist out to play.
Don’t be afraid, It’s only paint and paper, are classes for beginners – those folks who have always wanted to paint but were put off by believing watercolor was too hard and difficult and not fun. I also welcome experienced painters who don’t have space or supplies to create. I aim to keep the sessions light and fun. I provide all the necessary supplies from paint and paper to brushes and sponges.
I particularly cherish the moments with students that initially say “I can’t paint-draw-be creative” who leave with smiles and a completed watercolor painting, wanting to paint some more. These introductory to intermediate classes create a foundation for a new watercolor artist to experience the joy of putting watercolor on paper and a place for more experienced watercolorists to paint, without mandating the purchase of a good amount of expensive supplies.
