Marco Island Center for the Arts provides children and youth programming to nurture the creativity of your young artist. Art education can enrich our lives, communities and culture however it is vital to a child’s education to include the arts. Recent studies offer compelling evidence that connects youth arts education to a wide array of academic and social benefits. Art education promotes self-directed learning, improves positive emotional outlook, and sharpens critical and creative skills. Additionally, research has shown that what students learn in the arts may also help them to master other subject areas, such as reading, math, and social studies. Clearly study in the arts can contribute to overall student achievement and success in school and beyond.
- Arts Education is significantly associated with a 20% reduction in likelihood that adolescent would be suspended from school
