“Apartment 3A” by Jeff Daniels

A sparkling romantic comedy by critically acclaimed actor Jeff Daniels, Apartment 3A is a treasure trove of quiet and humorous revelations as Annie confronts her fears and opens her heart to an unexpected suitor.

Annie: (female, late 20’s to late 30’s – flexible Annie is skittish, wry, and a bit depressed. She feels down on her louck with her love life and stuck in her career as a public television fundraiser. She can be quite impulsive at times and this can go either way for her.

Don: (male, 20’s to 40’s – flexible) Annie’s new neighbor across the hall. He is affable, outgoing, and very much in love with his unseen wife. He sees Annie as a friendly compainion while his wife is away.

Elliot: (male, 20’s to late 30’s – flexible) Annie’s coworker at the tv station who has been madly in love with Annie for ages.  He is a very confident and sure about Annie, his faith, and life in general.

Dal: (male, 50’s to 60’s – flexible) Annie’s new landlord. Excited, cheerful, and a bit nosy. He is not much of a PBS fan, has his wife handle many things at the complex, and secretly loves the Disney Channel.

Tony: (male, any age) The engineer/director/jack-of-all-trades at the tv station. He is excitable and professional.

“The Fantasticks” Book and Lyrics by Tom Jones Music by Harvey Schmidt

Whimsical, poignant, and romantic, The Fantasticks is an allegorical story that focuses on two young lovers, their meddling fathers, and the journey we all must take through adolescent thrills, the growing pains of hurt and betrayal, the highs of passion, the challenges of distance, and the agonies of heartbreak to discover how to truly love.

Anyone auditioning for “The Fantastics” will need to have 16 bars of a song prepared for the audition.

The Odd Couple (female version) by Neil Simon

Arts Center Theatre at Marco Town Center

Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon’s hilarious contemporary comic classic: the female version of The Odd Couple. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers. But the hilarity remains the same.

“Plaza Suite” by Neil Simon

Plaza Suite portrays three couples who each occupy Suite 719 at the Plaza Hotel at different stages throughout the year. First up, is a suburban couple who have come to the hotel to celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary…or is it their 23rd? Or is it actually their anniversary at all?

“Hollywood Arms” by Carol Burnett and Carrie Hamilton

Hollywood Arms is a full-length comedic drama by Carrie Hamilton and Carol Burnett. A young daughter of ineffectual parents finds escape and solace in her own dreams of stardom in this warmhearted, coming-of-age play by comic legend Carol Burnett and her daughter, Carrie Hamilton.

April 19- May 7, 2023

“The Foreigner” by Larry Shue

Arts Center Theatre at Marco Town Center

The Foreigner is a fun, two-act comedy by American playwright Larry Shue. The story takes place in a fishing lodge in rural Tilghman County, Georgia where two Englishmen, Froggy and Charlie, arrive as guests. The shy Charlie agreed to accompany Froggy on the trip after his sick wife begged him to go.
