Description
Artist, Marjorie Pesek, will teach you her exciting collage technique of Layered Imagery. Students with any level of artistic talent will see their creative side emerge. By cutting and assembling together images you select from magazines, you will recreate your own version of your beloved pet, your favorite flower, toy, car or any subject you would like into a unique piece of art.
Each registered student will be asked to email a photo of the subject they would like to create, 10 days prior to class to mepesek@aol.com and select either an 11” x 14” or 16” x 20” canvas. Marjorie will sketch their subject onto the canvas and bring with her to class. Students should be sure there is a clear central subject in their selection (people portraits are not encouraged) and to bring more small photos of their subject to class.
For a complete list of dates and codes, please see our 2022-2023 Adult Education Schedule.

Event Details
Dat Phan is the Original Winner of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and is a Headlining Comedian touring live across the U.S. He has made numerous TV and movie appearances including “Hawaii Five-O” and “Magnum P.I.”. Dat Phan has been included in The Smithsonian Institution’s exhibition of The Top 10 Most Influential Vietnamese-American Individuals.
Dat was born in Saigon, Vietnam and immigrated with his mother to San Diego, CA. Moving to LA he had to live out of his car, and even after being robbed at gunpoint he wouldn’t stop pursuing his dream of performing comedy. Dat answered phones for The Improv in Hollywood during the day and tried to get as much stage time as possible at night. Later, Dat took the risk and auditioned for the experimental, comedy based show produced by NBC that would launch his career. The rest is history as he was named the funniest person in America on August 5, 2003.
Dat’s culturally insightful comedy inspects ridiculous stereotypes, and shares his experience of being a regular American guy with a Vietnamese heritage. His youthful energy and truly unique life experiences are combined to create the message of living your dreams and reaching out for the stars. Dat Phan’s mission is to bring a more positive portrayal of Asian-Americans to mainstream entertainment and Hollywood. “We want to be seen as more than just martial artists, or bad stereotype token roles in American TV & movies.

Event Details
RC Smith is known in the television and comedy industry as one of the best “tv warm-up” guys in the business. A warm-up comic’s job is to get people who are there to see a television program show live, in a great, upbeat mood, before they see the true star of the show. A great warm-up comic can jump-start an audience from nothing to something and has to do it right from the get-go. He has to have great energy as soon as he hits the stage and he has to be a 100% hitter. RC SMITH IS THAT GUY! RC is currently the warm-up comic for ABC’s “The Chew”, was a long-standing warm-up for “The Rachel Ray Show” and has also done warm-up for TV’S “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, “Good Morning America”, “The Colbert Report”, “The Tony Danza Show”, “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, “The Caroline Rhea Show” and “Ricki Lake”. RC headlines all around the country and Canada and is a regular on a handful of 50,000 watt radio stations around the country which is a true testament to his adaptability, likeability, and creativity. He regularly plays Atlantic City and Las Vegas along with the Mohegan Sun Casino. RC’s influences are Don Rickles, Lenny Bruce, and Gene Simmons. People that have seen him always remember him.

Peter Fogel’s “Til Death Do Us Part…You First!” Directed by Academy Award-nominee Chazz Palminteri
Directed by Academy Award-nominee Chazz Palminteri, ‘Til Death Do Us Part…You First! is a one man tour-de-force performance about the ups and downs of love and marriage. Combining fast-paced comedy with a grounded sense of pathos, the 90 minute monologue written and performed by Peter Fogel chronicles the comedian’s personal journey to find acceptance.
The journey begins when Fogel receives a greeting card from Palminteri, who agrees to direct the solo show on the condition that Fogel tells a truthful and honest story about his previous relationships. Throughout the evening, Palminteri’s voice wafts on stage, playing the part of the wise therapist, forcing Fogel to revisit his past relationships and confront his flaws. Fogel has the audience roaring with laughter as he relates one bold and wacky anecdote after another, about everyone from his relatives, to his friends, and his ex-lovers.
PETER FOGEL
No stranger to comedy, Peter Fogel has worked on numerous projects for stage and screen, including “Comedy Strip Live,” “Comedy on the Road,” “Married With Children,” Unhappily Ever After, Chicago Sons (with Jason Bateman), and Men Behaving Badly (Rob Schneider). Fogel is best known for starring in the national tour of Steve Solomon’s show My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish & I’m In Therapy!
CHAZZ PALMINTERI
In the tradition set forth in the 1970s by such icons as director Martin Scorsese and actors Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, John Cazale and Joe Pesci, Bronx-born and raised Chazz Palminteri has brought grit, muscle and an evocative realism to the sidewalks of his New York neighborhood, in film.
After two decades of performing Off Broadway and on television, Palminteri wrote the powerful one-man stage commentary, A Bronx Tale, depicting his bruising childhood in great detail. Palminteri would go on to write the screenplay and act in the film that would mark Robert DeNiro’s directorial debut. Other important projects quickly fell Palminteri’s way. He received a well-deserved Oscar nomination the following year for his portrayal of a Runyonesque hit man in Woody Allen’s hilarious jazz-era comedy Bullets Over Broadway (1994).

Julie’s regularly heard on XM/Sirius Blue Collar Radio, as well as many syndicated stations including the John Boy & Billy Show, and the Bob & Sheri Show, (Charlotte, NC), & the Bob & Tom Show (Indianapolis, IN).
A Southern girl with universal appeal, Julie’s shows sell out from Florida to Oregon. Folks actually WANT to sit in the front row & have been known to return a second night, just so they can bring friends that haven’t yet seen her.
“Phyllis Diller started comedy at 37 years old & so did I. She went on to have a fabulous career that lasted over 40 years. I hope to be just as fortunate. It’s so awesome to be doing exactly what I feel like I’m meant to do!”
