Description
Join me for an “under sea adventure” with a layered reef. We will be making a reef similar to the “Under the Sea” and adding it to a “sea floor”. We begin with the sea floor part of our reef, which can be covered with clay shells, sand dollars, sea stars…where ever your imagination takes you.
When we have completed our sea floor we will be under glazing it as green ware and setting it aside and begin work on the reef. Once we have completed the upper reef we will connect the two pieces and finish glazing. Class time allows for instruction with a water color technique for under glazing which really defines and adds layers to your piece.
Skill Level: Experience hand building or have taken the Beginner Under the Sea

It’s not too early to sign up!
OPEN STUDIO! Let’s paint together! Save your Wednesday afternoons, 1-3:30pm, in November 2022 and January thru March 2023. An Open Studio for experienced and beginning artists. I’m an acrylic painter, but all mediums are welcome.
It’s not a class, but a chance to get together with other artists and just paint. I’ll be happy to give input if you ask, but won’t give formal lessons.
The monthly fee will allow you to bring your own supplies and come to paint at a lower cost than a regular class.
Looking forward to see what you are working on!
Easels and tables are available at the Art Center for your use. Preregistration is required as space is limited and there is no prorating or combining of months. The Member and Non-Member Fee listed below is for the month the artist has registered for regardless of how many sessions she/he attends. If a person wishes to “pay as you go” the fee for members will be $20/session and non-members will be $25/session providing there is space available. Paying by the month will save you $5/session.

Event Details
Plaza Suite portrays three couples who each occupy Suite 719 at the Plaza Hotel at different stages throughout the year. First up, is a suburban couple who have come to the hotel to celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary…or is it their 23rd? Or is it actually their anniversary at all? They are succeeded by a Hollywood hotshot who has returned to New York to seek out his (now married) high school girlfriend. After three doomed marriages, he is eager to remind himself of the sweet innocence of a suburban woman…with a little sexual diversion along the way. However, her obsession with Hollywood and overindulgence in the vodka stingers gives him more than he bargained for. Finally, the suite is occupied by a couple who are about to celebrate the wedding of their daughter…if they can get her out of the bathroom. Tension rises and tempers flare as all their attempts to get her to unlock the door fail. Neil Simon’s witty and piercing observation of love, marriage, and contentment offers a unique challenge for two talented actors to play three very different couples.

Hollywood Arms is a full-length comedic drama by Carrie Hamilton and Carol Burnett. A young daughter of ineffectual parents finds escape and solace in her own dreams of stardom in this warmhearted, coming-of-age play by comic legend Carol Burnett and her daughter, Carrie Hamilton. Based on the great comedian’s memoir One More Time, this revealing stage version is an entertaining, moving, and sometimes zany look into Carol Burnett‘s not-so Hollywood-land childhood.
Hollywood Arms chronicles the life of a woman named Helen in pre- and post-World War II Hollywood. This funny and moving story centers on three generations of women living on welfare in a one-room apartment at the Hollywood Arms, at the foot of the Hollywood hills. The piece contains a cavalcade of characters, including a tough, funny, yet tender pill-popping Christian Scientist grandmother who cares for the heroine, Helen, after the divorce of her parents; a beautiful wide-eyed and distant mother who is struggling to be a writer, only to drown her ambitions in a bottle; a loving but absent and alcoholic father who wants to be the daddy he never was; and a young girl Helen whose only escape is up on the roof of their rundown apartment house where she creates her own magical world at the foot of the Hollywood Hills. Finally, it’s a story about shattered hopes and realized dreams. Audiences will laugh and cry as they watch the story of the childhood that birthed Carol Burnett‘s incredible talent.
