MARCO ISLAND REALTORS CARE

The Art League Marco Island’s Center for the Arts recently held a celebration in recognition of their 40th Anniversary. The history of the organization tells us that they have always been community oriented. Their outreach to provide a learning experience and mission to promote education in and appreciation of excellence in the arts has resulted in the facility that currently exists today. Being one of the first public buildings completed during the Deltona development of Marco, the facility was utilized by many groups in those early days. The community spirit has been reignited and our very own Marco Island Realtors have stepped forward in support and recognition of the importance and value of having a Center for the Arts on our Island.

Thanks to the dedication of Charlie Neal, President Marco Island Area Association of Realtors, a campaign was developed to support the “Collaborative 40” project.

The “Collaborative 40” initiative was part of the 40th Anniversary Celebration for the Art League and was spear headed by artists Tara O’Neill, Betty Newman and Jo-Ann Sanborn. Forty individual artists each painted one 12 inch x 12 inch canvas panel that came together to create one unified work of art; a community of artists.

The next step, while artists were creating, a community of 40 sponsors were needed to purchase all the panels as a permanent installation at the Art League’s McFarland Atrium Gallery. Thanks to the great support of Marco Realtors Who Care, the goal was met; a community of realtors.

Your Marco Island Realtors in support of this initiative in addition to Charlie Neal include Alan & Linda Sandlin, Bette McGilvray, ML Meade, Chris Sullivan, Donna Kittle, Oak Kirn, John Barto Jr. , American European Realty, Roe Tamagni, Susan LaGrotta, Jackie Strategos, Bill Filbin, Ms. Lynn Schneider, Terry K. Field, Mari-Jo Koval, Susan Purvis, Nancy Boyer, Susan Hauze, Jacki Richlen, Donna & Michael Vale, Engel & Volkers Marco Island Realty, Ronald J. Saffin, Kathryn Hunt, Jon Busch, Slocum Properties, David & Debi Johnson, Angela Palmer, Kim Polley, Ben & Terry Rouleau – The Rouleau Group.

The project rasied over $4000.00 for the Art League and contractor Steven A. Henell will be sponsoring the permanent installation to be completed by January 1, 2010 at which time “Collaborative 40” will be available for public viewing.
