Just imagine a world without the use of the creative mind that develops and enhances every day of your life. Fortunately for us there are many who cannot conjure up this image. They are supporters of the arts.

As a member you support and contribute to community outreach programs such as:

"Art Talks" for elementary students, our annual scholarship program for high school students, the art education program for Home School students, Artist Visiting Kids program, Plein Air painting sessions, in-house free demonstrations and exhibits and the outdoor Celebration of the Arts along with the Fall Arts & Crafts Festival.

As a member you benefit from:

Art education including semester courses, special workshops, clay studio, educational lectures, gallery exhibitions and receptions, a unique gift shop of original arts and crafts, art library resource center, cultural trips and events, volunteer opportunities and discounts for Artist Links, classes and gift shop purchases.

Renewing your membership

Your Art League has gone through a lot of changes and tough times this year. We have navigated successfully through some tough economic challenges. During this time we have seen an outpouring of support and goodwill from members and volunteers, from small donations of $20 to very generous ones of $10,000+plus, from individuals and businesses, and we are all grateful for the generous support of the community.

We have simply been touched and humbled by your support and your board is committed to bringing new programs and art events to the Island which we trust will increase the enthusiasm and continued support of the Arts.

You will see that your board has made some difficult decisions on the membership structure this year. In spite of the continuing challenge of meeting our budget we have decided to lower our individual to $85 and family memberships to $130. We have taken this action to be more in line with other art centers, and in the hope that you will decide to renew your memberships and to attract new members as well. We have increased the dues to the Friends of the Arts from $200 to 250 and we have also added a new category ''ANGELS OF THE ARTS'' at $1,000 plus for those in our community who can afford to be extra generous.

We have also restructured and added new and exciting benefits for the different membership levels, as you can see from the Membership Renewal Application below.

So please support your Art League so that we may continue to bring to the community exciting Art to appeal to each of us.

To paraphrase an old philosopher life without art is not worth living.
