LEVEL OF INSTRUCTION: This exciting one day workshop is geared to the beginner with minimal experience to the intermediate watercolorist.
STRUCTURE OF YOUR CLASSES: Learn how to paint transparent watercolor on watercolor canvas and gesso board. Create a more brilliantly colored painting and learn how to seal and protect your watercolor without the need to mat or frame under glass. Emphasis is on experimentation with unique and creative effects to make your watercolor special. This is going to be a fun filled day with demos.

INSTRUCTOR: RICKY MARTIN
Ricky Martin is an award winning working artist who studied both in Germany and in the United States. She continues to participate in occasional workshops to enhance her skills and bring fresh ideas to her work. Ricky paints in oils, watercolor, acrylics, pastels, encaustics (pigmented wax) and colored pencil. Her work is regularly displayed in juried Gallery Shows. Ricky is also creating unique pieces of gemstone jewelry which sells at the Art League of Marco Island Gift Shop. In 2003, she was selected to participate in the “Dolphin Debut”-a fundraiser for the Art League of Marco Island. Her 7 foot fiberglass dolphin, painted in indigenous Florida flowers sold for $5,500 at auction. She recently started conducting workshops entitled “Watercolor on Canvas”, which are very well attended. Copy rights for one of her paintings were purchased by a California Beverage Company to be featured on a wine label. Ricky has been selling art online since 2000. Her work is in collections throughout this country as well as Europe, Canada, The Virgin Islands, and the Middle East. Ricky is a member of the Art League Marco Island’s Center for the Arts, where she served on the Board of Directors for more than 5 years. Ricky also belongs to several online Artist’s groups, among them EBSQ, where she is a juried member of the prestigious EBSQ Plus.
