Group Comes Forward as Newest PALs to Sponsor Art League
“Leadership” Gallery Wall
On February 2, 2010 the Art League, Marco Island’s Center for the Arts, announced the latest addition to its growing list of gallery wall sponsors participating in the PALs (“Patrons of the Art League”) program. A plaque on this gallery wall will read, “Art League Leadership – Past and Future.” Sponsorship of this PALs wall was initiated by Gail & Emil Fischer, and LaVonne & Glen Johnson. They challenged other benefactors to honor the former presidents of the Art League, as well as Boards of Directors, and chairs of the volunteer committees. According to the Fischers and the Johnsons, they wanted to recognize the leaders of the past 40 years for their vision; their commitment; and their blood, sweat, and tears on behalf of the Art League
Christine Neal, Art League Executive Director, extended her sincere appreciation to the Fischer’s and the Johnson’s for matching funds of the other contributors, and thanked all the sponsors of this new Leadership wall, including: Susan Adams; Susan & Ken Kozlowski; Jane Laird; Deborah Melges; Bill Morris; Charlie Neal; Chris & Ken Stroud; and Vicki & Dean Zaneis.

Marco Island Neighbors Support PALs Program at Art League Marco Island’s Center for the Arts
Today the Art League Marco Island’s Center for the Arts, announced the establishment of a community sponsored gallery wall. A group of Marco Island neighbors have joined together as PALs “Patrons of the Art League” to help shore up the finances of the Art League. Jean King, a long time Art League member, initiated the effort by graciously donating $500. Ms. King challenged others who agree with her that the Art League plays a valuable community role to join as a group in sponsoring a wall in the prestigious Lauritzen/Rush Gallery.
As a result of Ms. King’s challenge, other individuals came forward, recognizing that the Art League not only promotes education in and appreciation of excellence in the arts, but is also an important economic asset in our community. A plaque on their gallery wall will read, “Marco Island Neighbors Support the Art League”.
