Christine M. Longton has a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Eastern Michigan University. Chris worked as a Dietitian for many years but always had a passion for art.

From early childhood she has had an affinity towards rocks and often had her pockets loaded full of “pretty rocks.” As a child Chris took art classes through the local YMCA. In young adulthood she attended many courses from Henry Ford Museum/ Greenfield Village including: stained glass, stained glass lamp making, beeswax and bayberry candle making, herb and spice wreaths, pressed flower pictures, soap making, fresh floral and evergreen decorating, herb and English gardening designs.

Chris continued her love of art and crafts and progressed taking Adult Education classes including: Drawing and Painting, Ceramics, Pottery, and Throwing on the wheel, and Jewelry making. She volunteered at Art-Works a not-for-profit art gallery in Big Rapids, Michigan; where her Jewelry was often showcased. She also worked with a Jeweler for five years designing custom gold settings for faceted gemstones.

Chris has been beading and making custom and unique jewelry since 1995. Since it first began she has been showing her work at the North Naples Green Market, located in the Collection at Vanderbilt, corner of Vanderbilt Beach Road and Airport-Pulling, Naples, Florida. In season October 24th – May, Saturdays 8 am to 1 pm. Chris is a member of Wedding Party Planners of Naples (WPPN) representing custom jewelry for brides and wedding party, as well as mother of the bride and mother of the groom. Also, Chris has shown her work at Ava Maria since it first opened and continues to exhibit at special events, their farmers market and on select Sundays.

Artist Statement
“I love to create unique pieces of wearable art. I enjoy making people happy and watching the smiles on their faces when they discover a one-of-a-kind jewelry set. It is fun to hear my customers speak of the compliments they receive. I can create custom designs to match any outfit, special occasion, or personal style.”
